PIMP YOUR PIN BOARD

Sonntag, 20. September 2015

A thing everybody owns, nevertheless seldom pretty to look: at the good old cork pin board. Cork is indeed trendy right now but I love white. The Wall has been around for a year, but it had to be white, so my man had to paint it white. So far so good so what. The Wall has to be pimped.

In DEPOT (store) I've gotten paper tape, pretty paper tape, and  the weekday buttons. I love black & white so the paper tape had to be black and white too. Of course it is entirely up to you, just pick your favourite. If your cork wall has not yet lost it's natural look, paint it white and let it dry. After the paint has dried you need the nails. Plug the nails next to the frame in the cork. The nails must protrude slightly so that you can wrap the tape around. I sticked the nails at the same distance. But you can do so as you like best. On my wall the distance between nails is about 10 cm. And then the wrapping starts with a knot on a bottom nail going criss cross upwards - some times I skipped a nail for not getting too symmetrical. The last wound end with a knot around the nail. And done! Made it look nice quickly.

YOU NEED:

1 cork pin board // white paint // nails 20 mm (if you decide on wider tape go with longer nails) // paper tape

DIY - IKEA LAMP BECOMES A POLKADOT DREAM

Mittwoch, 2. September 2015

Today I dashed in our bedroom and thought to myself: Looks nice - but something is missing. A few dots would not be bad at all. We have the super cheap but still beautiful REGOLIT hanging lamp from IKEA hanging in the bedroom. To make it happen we went with Mia to the Pagro shop - for the kids a new world. They did not want to get out of the store. Everywhere there were new things to discover.
But Mami has also discovered  small black round stickers. Yeah. Just right for the lamp.

Of course, there were complications. The stickers did not stick because the air was dusty. So I dusted the lamp. Then attached the stickers one more time - but a few stickers have still fallen off again. Then I thought I'll get  the hairspray from the bath. And look - it worked.

YOU NEED:

REGOLIT hanging lamp from Ikea // round black stickers // and // very important hairspray // - // stick spray - spray stick // - // stick and finished

Laudachsee - a pearl of the mountain lakes

Freitag, 21. August 2015

Yesterday morning my dear friend Andrea has called and asked ... Family Rudow what are you up to today ? ... family Rudow said ... Well nothing really ... Andrea said .... Let's go to Laudachsee ... and we said Jaaaaa. It was the best we could have done today . The weather was perfect - not too hot and not too cold. The signs indicate from Franzl in the wood it would be an 1 hour and 15 minutes walk- but I think with the kids in tow, we doubled that. But we all  fully enjoyed the walk. Because there is so much to discover. Toll was the super fresh mountain air ... you know I think guys from the city don't relate to that. Tip: Come to the Salzkammergut! Even with the stroller to get super up - one more tip: you can't use a buggy - gravel road and partly many stones. There are always great views of the Traunstein - the kids are more interested in flowers, stones, sticks, butterflies, moss and clover - but all the wonderful things  are to discover along the way. And the journey is the reward. Fresh and delicious mountain water is there at 7 Prince-Brünnlein very refreshing and a great place to rest and take a snack. At the end of the walk you can see through the trees shimmering the Katzenstein and then you get a fantastic view of the Laudachsee - at 900 meters above sea level. We first had to refresh all and went swimming with the ducks. The descent was easy: Luis has fallen asleep in the Tragerl (backpack) ... and  our Mimmi mouse is finally fast asleep although circling me for a long time while writing this. Even Mami is tired - I can feel my muscles in the back and legs because Mia and Luis were alternately carried in the Tragerl. But it was a beautiful day and I am proud of Mia for she marched so bravely at the age of 3. What a beautiful day.
