MY HUSBAND AND HIS BOOKS

Today I tell you about the man at my side. Because he has, I think, made a great discovery. As you can read in the title it comes to books. I'm not exactly a bookworm. This is probably because due to my job as a graphic designer, have enough to do with letters. I think the last book I read was 7 years ago in Bali. The books that are in my hands nowadays are  children's books. And you do read them often. Nevertheless, I have not read a book twice. But what about the books we adults like. My husband - he is called Thomas Juan Carlos ... some call him Tom ... but for me it's just ... Thomas ... has a lot of books. And he likes to read. Both in German and English. But does he  read books more than once? Yes he reads his books more than once. But there are also books that gather dust in some closet or moving box. Because the story is always inside. When, where, and how you read a book. Thomas was on his way to buy gas for the grill, in Gmunden, at the shop of the plumber Schiller, and has discovered and brought a book in the brochure rack. On this book was a sticker: Take me with you, read me and release me!

I was with Mia at Toscana Park in Gmunden, because we have heard there should be a book tree. We searched and were much more aware of our surroundings than usually combing the park. We have seen many beautiful trees, squirrels, have looked into holes and climbed on trees, but we have not found a single book. It was jinxed. We  asked the walkers said ... No ... I've never heard of, but a great thing ... I thought there at the tree or there ... good luck with your search. The dog owners that are frequently in the park with their pets  told me that the books are every now on different trees but mostly at the entrance. But nothing to do about it , no bag with a book for us. Maybe tomorrow. It is a beautiful park, amazing trees and  always something to discover. We actually did see the book tree, but since it had no books on it at the time it appeared to us to be a regular tree. You can find the tree right at the entrance of the Toscana park. It is the old oak.
But what's behind it. Bookcrossing.com   - reading books and meeting people. What is BookCrossing? A book that is passed from reader to reader. It is like a library for the whole world. Social Network included. It gives the book a unique identity. It can be tracked and hunted. There are currently 1,475,719,719 BookCrossers and 11,106,357 books, traveling through 132 countries. The goal is to connect each other by the books people.

How it works: Enter your books a new life, instead of favorite books that you read anyway a second time to allow dust, give it to others. There is an online archive and tracking system. So you can come into contact with people and evaluate literature. There are BCIDs - the individual book ID. If a book with this number has been registered, the book can be traced forever and get new items. You can register for free register and it will cost you nothing. The bottom line is:. Don't lock your books - read them - and then let them free Another quote for you, also to be found on BookCrossing and very appropriate:

A book is not just a friend, it creates you friends. If you have owned a book in mind and in spirit, you are enriched. But if you have passed the book you are enriched in triplicate.     Henry Miller // The Books in My Life // 1969

Some of Thomas' books are now registered and will be brought to special places, and the hunt begins, today he strolled off again with a pile of books. I think it's a great thing. Maybe it's something for you.
